33 questions

Booking and the waitlist

Can I book a dyno run online?

Not yet. Online booking opens soon. Join the waitlist with your name, mobile and email and we'll contact you when it does.

What happens after I join the waitlist?

We keep your details and contact you by text or email when booking opens. Nothing is sent before then.

Do I need an account?

No. Your name, a mobile number and the car's plate are enough.

Can I choose who works on my car?

When booking opens you'll be able to pick Leo, Ryan, or first available.

How far ahead can I book?

When booking opens, the calendar shows the next two weeks, Monday to Saturday.

Do you send a text to confirm?

No. When booking opens, the ticket on the page is your confirmation, with a copy by email if you leave one.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Once booking opens, you can change or cancel up to 24 hours before your slot, from My bookings.

Dyno runs

How long is a dyno run?

About an hour on the rollers.

What should I bring?

The car, with at least half a tank. Come 15 minutes before your slot.

What do I leave with?

The printed dyno sheet for your car.

Whose dyno do you use?

Runs happen on DynoPro in Quezon City, a partner of the shop.

Why do dyno numbers differ between shops?

Every dyno reads a little differently. That's why a before and after on the same dyno, the same afternoon, is the comparison worth trusting.

Tuning

What platforms do you tune on?

Speedworks is licensed on ECUTEK and bootmod3.

How long does a tune take?

Plan on about three hours for a tune, and about four for a tune with a pull before and after.

What's the difference between a tune and tune and dyno?

A tune is the calibration on its own. Tune and dyno adds a pull before and a pull after, so you leave with both runs on one sheet and the car goes on record.

I'm not sure what my car needs. Where do I start?

Pick "Not sure yet". It's half an hour with an engineer to work out what the car needs before anyone touches it.

How much does it cost?

Prices are quoted per car, because no two builds are the same. Tell us about your car and the shop will quote it.

Check a car and build records

I'm buying a used car. Can I check if Speedworks tuned it?

Yes. Type its plate on Check a car. If Speedworks tuned it and the owner agreed to share the build, its record shows up.

It says "No record yet". Is something wrong with the car?

No. It only means there's no published Speedworks build for that plate. The car may never have been here, or the owner kept it private.

Which plates work?

Both. Old plates with three letters and three numbers, and new ones with three letters and four numbers.

Does a record cover changes made after Speedworks?

No. Every record shows the date the car was tuned and who tuned it. Anything done to the car after that date isn't verified.

What if the car was tuned more than once?

Each retune is added as a new entry and the earlier ones stay, so you see the car's full history in order.

Who can add a build to the index?

Only the Speedworks team publishes builds. Nothing goes on the index until the shop has checked it.

What if a car has no dyno sheet?

Its record says it has no dyno data, so nobody mistakes it for a verified run.

Full records and access

Can I see the full dyno sheet?

The full sheet and the before and after overlay are locked for now. The public page shows that a verified sheet exists.

How will paid access work?

When it opens, paying to see a car's full record gives you two weeks of access to that car, as many times as you like.

Do I pay to see my own car's record?

No. If Speedworks tuned your car, you get its full record free, and you keep that access.

Privacy and your data

Who can see my name and number?

Only you and the shop. Public pages never show owner names, mobile numbers or plates.

Will my car be public?

Only if you agree. A build goes public after the owner gives consent, and the owner is never shown on it.

Why is the plate on a record if owners are private?

It isn't. A plate is only something you type to search. It never appears on a build page.

Who owns the data?

Speedworks. Build records, customer records, dyno figures and photos belong to the shop.

The shop

Where are you?

Mindanao Ave, Quezon City.

How long has Speedworks been around?

Since 2003. Three mechanical engineers started it, and they tested every modification on their own cars before offering it to a client.
